NextWave Digital

NAS distributes Nextwave Digital DVB-t set top boxes and DAB+ digital adaptors throughout Australia. Our experience with digital TV has culminated in the development of the NextWave Digital set top boxes for the Australian market. Our involvement with digital TV since its inception has allowed us to understand the needs of consumers and hence to have ensured that the NextWave range is user friendly and feature rich.

Digital Radio

Currently available in all mainland capitals, digital radio was launched in Australia in May of 2009.  The relatively new medium offers listeners:

  • Fantastic sound that is superior to traditional AM and FM radio
  • Clear reception - interference free
  • More channels
  • Easy tuning - no need to remember the frequency as you now tune by station name
  • More information - scrolling text on screen with artist and song information, weather and news updates and much more
  • Additional features including a pause and rewind function

There are no subscription costs to listen to digital radio.  All you need to do is purchase a DAB+ digital radio.

Digital TV - Analogue Switch-Off

The analogue transmission switch off commenced in Australia in 2010 and will continue until the end of 2013 when digital-only television signals will remain.  With over 82% of Australian households having converted at least their main television set to a digital television (integrated television or digital set-top-box), the switch to digital TV is progressing with haste. If you have not done so already, join the majority of Australians - catch the next wave in digital television and enjoy the numerous benefits it affords.

DAB-390

The NextWave DAB-390 DAB+ and Internet Radio is a plugin solution for adding digital radio (DAB+) and internet radio (streaming) to an existing HiFi setup. The unit features many different audio outputs including analog stereo, as well as coaxial and optical digital audio outputs. The unit does come with a small remote control.

The DAB-390 receives DAB+ signals (Ch9a) through the antenna (F-type) port. A telescopic antenna is supplied, but the unit may instead be connected to an outdoor antenna (must receive band III signals). An F-PAL adaptor is included for connection to an existing PAL antenna lead. Internet (IP) data can be received through the Ethernet (RJ45) port or via built-in-WiFi.

Tune into local digital radio broadcasts or to internet radio services from around the world. Just scan for DAB+ broadcasts in your area and pick channels by name from a list. Your favourite radio station may also be broadcasting more services and special programs. More than 20,000 Internet radio services can be selected by country and region, by name or by genre.
